Born OTD in 1861 actor Anthony Edward Brett (11 Oct 1861 – 24 Dec 1948), better known as – Eille Norwood. Norwood appeared as SherlockHolmes in 45 short films and 2 features between 1921 and 1923. He also played Holmes on stage in 1923-4 in The Return of Sherlock Holmes.
