A farmer is found dead, and for the local police inspector it’s clear that the man’s son, James McCarthy, should be charged with the murder. Although for Alice Turner, McCarthy’s childhood friend, the matter is not a murder but a mystery, and she sends a telegram to Sherlock Holmes. As Holmes takes up the case, Alice becomes a vital source of information.

When the doctor’s wealthy cousin dies of a rare tropical disease and leaves Culverton all his money and property despite having a wife and children, Holmes and Watson become determined to set things right.

In Watson’s absence, Holmes is joined by his brother Mycroft in an investigation into the murder of a secretary to an invalid professor. The only clues they have are the young man’s dying words and a pair of pince nez found clutched in his hand.

Renowned sleuth Sherlock Holmes tries to smuggle the Swiss inventor of a revolutionary aircraft bomb-aiming device to England – right under the noses of the Nazis. Unfortunately, an even greater adversary is awaiting their arrival.

Sherlock Holmes Faces Death (1943)
Dr Watson calls for assistance from his old friend Sherlock Holmes when he comes across a series of bizarre deaths in this adaptation of `The Musgrave Ritual’. Watson is working at a manor house, converted by an impoverished family into a retreat for convalescing military officers, when he discovers a deathly curse is hanging over the beleaguered owners.
